Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

Culture Decay

The C levels keep preaching culture as the top priority of Next. From what has been seen in town halls there is an ominous tone of get "in the boat" or get the eff out. They are building a real culture of fear. On top of that the SDLC is being globally changed to scaled Scrum. Diversity is on the agenda. Hopefully that does not mean making 100% of VP and above of Indian origin. What we see here is reverse descrimination against Americans of white/hispanic/black/other Asian origins moving into leadership for the sake of "PC" aka low pay for a big title.

I don't know the man in person but DS certainly seems like an idiot from what I have seen.

Also, personally I don't think his change of job 10 times in the past 20 years does anything but reinforce that.

If the past is to repeat again, and I would be very surprised if it didn't in his case, then he will move on to "new challenges" within the next 12 to 18 months.

The American Airlines days are long behind us. Sabre is no longer an American company. RG will not be finished until everybody below SVP is offshore.

They want to build more videoconferencing collaboration rooms?

No.

Create teams that are in one physical location.

If your job is to communicate using the English language to English speakers then you should be required to be able to speak English very very well. If you are Polish or Indian and your English is unintelligible then you are simply not qualified for a job that almost entirely involves communication in English. This is not racist or xenophobic. This is just the reality. Plenty of native English speakers do not have sufficient communication skills either. Perhaps you are an amazing communicator in Polish or Hindi or Spanish or French or Arabic or whatever. If so, then you should be in a position where you communicate using that language to a team that speaks that language not English.

I never ever imagined things could get this bad.

The latest C rhetoric is suppose to be inspiring but is almost out of the Hitler Hand Book on using fear and not true leadership. As I listened to the DS call today for AS he spent 40 mins yelling at us and not talking to us. I was very disappointed for at his in personal town halls he was more inspiring and gave me hope for the first time in years. Now the hope is gone and I see that I have been baited and switched and he is as bad as the rest of the C Team.

As far as the Indian culture take over at Sabre HDQ it has been going on for years.......I wouldn't mind experiencing and sharing about different cultures had it been about all cultures which also includes our American as well. However it has gotten to the point that if it isn't Indian then it is not welcomed which is not right either. Does it always have to be a Cricket Match at Sabre HDQ? Why not have Kickball or Flag Football? I remember the Flag Football happen only once. Each year there is a Sabre Sponsor event to celebrate Indian Independence Day on campus but what about Poland's Independence Day or Uruguay's or even the 4th of July? Yes we get day off in the US for the 4th but would it hurt to have a Sabre Sponsor Event to celebrate our Independence day the day before?

But what is not right and I have witness with my own ears is people saying nope can't hire that person for they are NOT Indian. This is not right regardless of the culture......even if they said nope can't hire that person for they are not American is also VERY VERY VERY wrong. Hire the best person for the job.....period. I have thought about going to HR or the Integrity Hotline but when I think about it whats the point? It would only make myself a target for HR is there to protect the Leadership and not the Employee and the fact that we have an Integrity Hotline is because there is a huge lack of Integrity at Sabre.

I second that . I am going through same experience. Promotions with Indian Ladder is usually pushed by liked kinda people rather than merits

Look around you , one goes up and gets the entire village there under her/his ladder . From what I hear that it is more of a culture in Dallas and not in any other places. But again I haven’t worked in other places .

I would not be surprised if some day we heard that Sabre is bought by TATA.

We already have TATA Motors, TATA Beverages, so TATA AirTravel (or similar) is quite possible ;-)

Honestly speaking I don't have any objection for Indian as the whole nation but my experience in Sabre with ladder of Indian Director and Indian SVP was really traumatic.
