Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Next week

Has anyone heard what the logistics will be next week? I know there are a number of conference rooms booked by HR at all the different locations. They shutting the building down? Just have to wait at your desk to be called?

Layoffs for a global company that span not just multiple days but multiple weeks around the world. Better yet, not saying anything about it but instead awkwardly pretending nothing’s happening despite this being one of the worst kept secrets. Brilliant!

Seriously, the first person to be canned should be whoever planned this fiasco

Hope they at least thought about staffing up security. Last thing we need is management pissing off the wrong guy and someone going postal

You really have to question the intelligence of whoever planned the logistics of these layoffs. Up to 3 days of employees on pins & needles or gossiping. Some idiot surely thought that closing HQ down for 1 full day would cost too much money. Ha! As if much meaningful work’s going to happen with pink slips flying all around!

People are generally permitted to go back to their desk and collect their personal belongings (coat/bag). Any other personal items will be shipped to them. They are not boxing their stuff up or anything.

The way I heard it from a reliable source is that the majority of layoffs will occur on Tuesday Feb 13th, and completing on Thur 15th. On Friday 16th, it will be a half day for all those who have not been let go. Those that have been let go will be given the opportunity to go back in the respective buildings, with an escort, and collect their personal belongings from their desks! Though, I must admit, I have never heard of being laid off and then been allowed back into the building under any circumstances but who knows?

The actual details of the terminations will be based on performance, and the '70' rule i.e.: years with the company plus your age, if it adds up to 70, show's over!

Snow day tomorrow in Purchase-can’t wait. I’m a little tired of watching everyone freak out in the hallways.

The layoffs are global but I’m hearing the US will notify people next week. Other continents will be notified in the 1-2 weeks afterwards.

Anyone know which areas are going to get hit ? I'm surprised they are waiting to do it after the earnings call. Seems like they would want to get the word out at the call.

Nothing is going to get done this week , next week and for a few weeks after, wouldn’t be surprised if the stress, tension and anxiety makes someone snap ... I’m sure the idiots haven’t planned for that possibility

I have been through an HQ layoff when the building didn’t shut down. It was tough to watch. I’ve also been around where it did shut down everywhere except for my group.

Has anyone been through an HQ layoff where the building was not shut down? Is that pretty much it, just sit in your cube and wait for the axe to drop? And do that for three days?

Really doubt that the HQ will be shut down. Otherwise, why would HR even need to reserve the conf. rooms in the first place?
