Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Exciting News!

Last week, we made a very exciting announcement regarding the future of Xerox. We will combine with Fuji Xerox, our longstanding joint venture with Fujifilm, to create a global leader in innovative print technologies and intelligent work solutions. This is an important moment for our company, and we are confident that this transaction will have significant benefits for you as well.

The combination of Xerox and Fuji Xerox will create a company with industry-leading scale, global reach, and a compelling offer for customers around the world. By integrating with Fuji Xerox, we will have the opportunity to leverage our highly complementary strengths to help us further define the future of printing and enterprise technology. Ultimately, this means the combined company will be better equipped to serve you and support your business’ evolving needs.

This announcement does not change our relationship with you, including contacts, contracts, or the Xerox products and services you value. We expect the transaction, which requires Xerox shareholder approval, to be completed in the second half of 2018. For now, both companies will continue to be separate, independent organizations and will operate business as usual.

Xerox large shareholders Icahn and Deason, who own a combined 15.2 percent of Xerox, are opposed to the two companies combining. Deason is suing. Surely Icahn will follow. The Stock is already DOWN significantly since the announcement, perhaps due to stock holders seeing that Xerox is just trying to hide poor performance and it’s mismanaged. What do you think is going to happen when Deason and Icahn drop their 15.2% position in Xerox?? And they will!! Xerox will try to use stock buyback to stem losses, but they will use debt to do it!! The companies have announced 10,000+ additional layoffs!! And the stock is down!?! I guess you can’t cut your way to success and certainly not when you treat clients poorly!! Xerox is a horrible lesson in American business. Watch the death spiral.

The Combining of 2 companies is a bailout of a very poor performing organization. They still treat employees poorly. They laid off hundreds of very tenured, hard working and yes older employees the week of Christmas. How horrible for those families. I hope those who can, do sue their bottoms off. Management is incompetent and rob the coffers, damaging the futures and fortune of the people actually serving customers. There is only one future for Xerox and sadly those who do business with them. Recommend Avoiding this company.

Xerox is and always has been a marketing machine, trying to spin horrible news into good news. Sometimes, they even believe what they're saying. The alleged 29 new products they introduced in 2017 are nothing more than a re-badge of their old product line, by slapping on a new user interface, and adding apps which most organizations won't use, and calling them new. The days of innovating for this company have been over for a very long time. Layoffs have been the norm at Xerox for years, and this Fuji Xerox buyout will only compound those layoffs for years to come, if they have years left. The upper and middle management at Xerox continue to have their heads in the clouds, and will believe what they are told for the most part, or leave this dying organization for bluer skies.

Obviously somebody in Xerox management learned that this board exists --- so a puff piece, corporate garbage speke, shows up. There will be cuts, always are when one firm purchases another one and, besides, the glassdoor and indeed reviews of Xerox and Conduent are ALWAYS bad!!! Queen Burns left a mess behind and she was univesally hated anyway. Don't be part of the cut. Get a new job now and tell Xerox to shove it where the sun does not shine.
