I heard a rumor that Al is selling one of his yachts and donating the proceeds to the employee bonus pool in order to make up for the shortfall this year. Should I buy that Camry my wife has had her eye on for the last 6 months, or do you guys think it's bogus info?

To the guy that called anyone on this board a "whiner" you've clearly never worked for the darkhole.
APC is still a great place to work if you're a member of the crony network entrenched throughout the organization, or if you just plain have your head in the sand (or up your a**).
Oil is a commodity. APC's brand was that it was a great place to work, not its oil. Being a great place to work attracted highly talented people who found oil better than our peer group and worked hard to make the company money. Then oil prices dropped and upper management cut middle management and put cheaper and less experienced replacement parts in their place. AAET continues this trend. Rank and file got slashed. It became us versus them in a fight over compensation. Management do not know how to manage a company or manage people. The brand is dead.
If you really think what is wrong is fixed with an exercise facility and a building, you are upper management material.
Smile people! You are responsible for your own destiny. Enjoy Anadarko while you still can. Otherwise, well....yeah. Good luck, and enjoy that Bar B Q!
It is not that bad at APC is it? If you live in The Woodlands or close you have a great commute. I commute from The Woodlands each day for about three hours. You have nice buildings to work in, and two nice gyms. Early lunches to workout, and every other Friday off. Every place just about has crappy managers, so Anadarko does not corner that market there. When things pick up you will have a chance to leave, but I doubt many will. You can always get a job downtown and ride the bus a few hours a day. You guys really make Anadarko look bad on your his board, and come across as whiners.
Well, the WIGS of keeping APC out of the Denver news yet again a failure for the DJ. Most spills. Great job. Tell the missus she'll have a gift card for a detail job, maybe even enough for the new car scent.
Depends. Which office are you in? If the answer is Denver, better go with a prius or Tesla to fit in with the other arrogant tree huggers. If it's Houston or Midland I'd suggest a lifted pickup to compensate for your "shortcomings".
