Amazon WILL buy sears and Kmart. It’s already a done deal.

@1kp - "They will never open brick and mortar stores." True, Amazon just buys them, as in their acquisition of Whole Foods. There are probably other acquisitions on the horizon as well.

@lkp, you clearly have no clue how Amazon works. They directly sell millions of items "shipped and sold by Amazon.com". They warehouse and ship millions more for third parties. "sold by ____ fulfilled by Amazon."

That's a big a-- set of shelves.

What does amazon sell ? Actually very little you could fit it on one set of shelves. There selling power is other peoples products in an online setting , take that away and they are no different than any other retailer. They will never open brick and mortar stores.

You have to be a special kind of stupid to think Amazon has any interest in Sears. The Whole Foods and Target consumers are Amazon's targets. Not the low income and senior citizen demographic that shops Sears and KMart. And for the cost of renovating the average Sears/KMart building into something Amazon would even think of putting their name on, they might as well build new and get the tax breaks government will clamor to give them.

Course they would take over Sears/Kmart locations, they are probably selling their buildings on the cheap.
