District Merchant Cuts?

Has anyone heard if there will be any cuts to the District Merchants or the RMDs?

It seems they are the only ones left untouched

With an operator in every store it feels like DM responsibilities could fall to them. I’m so surprised the DMs have lasted this long, but I have to say that they have a really tough position. Preparing for DDVs twice/week, responding to 10+ store manager store specific requests, answering notes from central asking why things aren’t selling... I feel like they work long hours pushing emails and prepping for things and they have no power. Really a crap job. As a store manager I have great friendships with DMs, their jobs may seem useless, but I feel for them.

Huh? I though urine-soaked fitting rooms were part of the store standards?

You have urine soaked fitting rooms too! Relieved it’s not just my store lol. It is a stress reducer to feel some of the comrodery here on these boards I must say.

When great direction is communicated by corporate, stores are always more than capable to execute. Stores need to own their business without the distractions of DM’s, waist of time floor moves and visits. With the increase of sales growing to online there is no need for someone to do floor planning, or analyze sales..... stores are more than capable to do this themselves.

Wow.... this is a useless role. In the past, there were some great merchants, but we forced them out so the company could “push” through any one they wanted to be a vpsm. They dont have to be good at this job any more, they dont even have to ne adequate, its just a next step they have to take.

Oh good! I can still expect their 30 emails each day that I have zero time to read because I have to cover the entire store, handle all the customer and employees complaints, clean up the urine soaked dressing rooms, cover lunch breaks for associates because there is one person working an area each day, get coached by my incompetent VPSM, coach all 25 of my associates and leads 2x a month and try to find people to work because 25% of the staff calls off because they 78 “credits” ... yay...

They were originally slated for this round but with all other changes they are keeping them for floor planning. They will be cut in August Same time as the merch restructuring last year
