Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

Well, this is my first week back after several weeks vacation. I thought I'd be re-energized and invigorated. I was. Until I entered the complex.

This first week back was so bad. Everyone I talk to thinks this place is horrific. Management is corrupt, incompetent, hypocritical... blah blah blah. The consolidation and cuts are coming. There is no leadership. But management thinks, "Hey!! Prices are over $60, so I get to collect my millions for longer!!"

Yes, I should leave for my sanity, but they have the 'cuffs on me. So I'll hang around, go to useless meetings, send and receive unimportant emails, and work and present data that will never go anywhere, and hope every day that the Board of Directors finally decides to take action.

Yes, I know. I'm dreaming.

I feel for ya OP! A cartoon representation of the change in my outlook each morning: 1. Walking out the door of my home, smiling, birds singing, sunbeams through the big poofy clouds. 2. Driving to work in the traffic, smile turns to a neutral expression, accidents, clouds of car exhaust, honking. 3. Entering the complex, frown, thunderclouds, stepping into a puddle and splashing onto my pants. Greeted by large grins on faces, while hands are holding torture devices behind their backs. A steady drip of water from the ceiling landing in my cubicle.

Quit you worthless piece of Sh-t! We don't need or want you! Anyone that does not feel like they are earning their salary and not worth more than than they are being paid should quit. It is people like you that are always looking back while stumbling forward that make it bad around here. Shut up and get out! Go volunteer work for the democratic party I sure they will welcome you!
