Why did Cabelas pullout of Leupold Gold Ring Program?

Any body know why Cabelas pulled out of the Leupold Gold Ring Program before allowing outfitters to redeem the points they earned on Leupold optical products? The program information that we received as outfitters stated that we could earn points until December 31, 2017 and redeem them by January 31, 2018. Without any notice from Cabelas that the program changed, many outfitters who worked diligently to sell Leupold products through out the year many times up selling from $200- $300 to $700-$800 Leupold products are left now without being able to redeem points for the hard earned work that they did. After speaking to a Leupold rep.I was told they have no idea what is going on, but they feel we should be able to redeem the points.

I can verify that the information that the employees in the program received was on paper with Leupold and Cabelas names and emblems on it. Instead of allowing employees to redeem points in January as stated in the letter we received, the program was abruptly stopped on Dec. 31 without any notice beforehand to employees. Many outfitters would have redeemed the points by Dec. 31 if we were notified but we were not. We are now left holding points that could have been redeemed. At worst sounds like a breech of contract. In the very least it is very unethical. What would you expect from the worlds FORMOST OUTFITTER????????

That s---s! Just a guess, but it could have something to do with BP taking over on 1/1/18. Maybe that voided any previous incentive program that Cabela’s had in place. I hope BP/Cabela’s and Leupold find a way to make it right.
