Layoff expected for January in Houston Area.

Read this in another thread, does anybody know where this information came from? I haven't heard anything about Huston layoffs, and usually there's at least some kind of rumor going around Schlumberger ahead of anything happening.
Got laid off from Bits & Drilling Tools a week before Christmas last month. 8 people laid off including me - 62, 61, 60 (that was me) the rest were in the 50’s. Had 4 more months to retirement but it’s all about business climate right?
Get real,who cares if bunch of slb people get fired?
Slb problems are bigger than laying off or keeping on payroll.
Whole the industry is shrinking and slb must adjust to it at all cost.

(Layoffs in Houston IT will be in 3rd week of January to 2nd week of March .75 to 100 will let go , 50 million budget cut, many more Indians will get transfer to Pune or to Coimbatore. After the recent H1 amendment SLB is not even ready to extend the H1 )
