Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

Halliburton is for LOSERS

Go get a real job people. I’m earning and learning so much more than when I was at halliburton. It’s definitely bringing in more opportunities for me. Don’t be lazy and get down to do some job searching. It’s gonna be rewarding.

Getting LA from HAL was the best thing to ever happen to me, dont get me wrong, at the time I thought life was over, dead, scared, the end. I was worried and it was stressful. After revamping my resume to look "less oilfield" I was able to get a job in another industry, same pay, more benefits and more stability. I NEVER thought I would say this, but getting LA from HAL was the best thing to ever happen to me. My only regret is that they didn't do it in the first round of LA back in late 2014. I managed to stay on until 2016. Oh well, thankful to have a job I can hang my hat on that I know will be there tomorrow in a less volatile industry. Who wants to be worried all the time about the damn oil price? About if they are going to have a job tomorrow? Seriously you can do better, don't be so desperate that you are hanging in the wind, worried what the oil price will do, jump the hell off the HAL ship while you still can. That's my advice

HAL should explain to their offshore hacks that paying less tax is generally preferred to paying more.

This highlights one of the problems in this place. Too many who are not very savvy. You pay peanuts you get what?

I worked offshore uk for many years and when doing work in Norway I claimed significant tax rebates. Forget what I did back then but you work it out for yourself.

It is not the case of hating halliburton it's the case of the company treating staff correctly

We in the uk offshore lack many concerns

Firstly we lack in investment with our competitors around

Salary is not good enough along with offshore day rate.

For example they want people to work in Norway offshore which has high taxation there but will not pay you any more money so that means people shall be worse off

This company needs to get the basics right and look after the working people.

Go offshore for Xmas no extra payments great another failure.

We have xmas new year raffle on rig for children suffering with various illnesses and guess what my manager stated due to cost cutting there shall be no raffle prizes forth coming from halliburton how bad is that you should be ashamed

With me not being a greedy boy I shall donate out of my own pocket like it has been for the last 4 years.

Speak about being greedy well certainly halliburton are in that catagary.

Ceo intends to restore employee benefits ie bonuses but this will only be for managers and above as the rest of the work force is forgotten especially the offshore aberdeen guys.

I would like to enjoy more time with my loved ones instead of having to work 3 weeks offshore every month.

What makes matters worse is that the wrong people get bonuses and the hard working people that work for the cause get

Nothing in return.

Thanks to board members yet for failing the people that make halliburton what it is

Jobs aren't permanent, retards, stop living in the f---ing 50's already. Those days are long gone. Get in, learn as much as you can, then when you're done gtfo. If you don't have this mindset already then god help you.

I like that speech well said this company and top team that say are leaders are dangling the carrot at all eyes we are wasting our time with this outfit see the people whom invest in halliburton yes shareholders the people that need to kept happy.

That's why staff especially offshore guys needs to seek better positions that pay better in the industry as things will turn but not for this company and come January there shall be more job losses hopefully in the north sea as many guys getting shafted not only by the company but also team managers

Listen to the man, there IS NO FUTURE for you, especially if you are a frac weenie, as you were specifically hired for your muscle, NOT for your brain.

Anyone else, is, and will be extremely limited in their opportunities for advancement, only to move from a "I" to "II", and maybe a "III", but unless you exceed at being a s--- azz, YOU WILL NEVER move into even the lower echelons of 'management".

Want to stay in, and assure a future in the oil field, go to work for either a small service company, OR, if you can, an oil and gas company.
