Were there any manager positions eliminated today, or just individual contributors?
In Schenectady, which product groups were impacted? I've read on a different thread of onshore wind positions being cut, but were any steam turbine positions hit?

Greenville PDE (drafters) impact has by and large been minimum. One from HGP, several from Combustion, none from the Compressor team.
The designers for the next 7HA__ program is being assembled now, so when 9HA02 & 9HA01 are finished up, what other programs are there?
I know a guy with 25 years (age 61) who passed on the early retirement package in March only to get layed off this round. He took a calculated risk and lost. GE could have re-offered the package but instead gave him standard layoff package.
Takeaway: if you get an early retirement offer, take it!
The next round of Greenville layoffs is already being planned, and some names have already been submitted up the chain. They haven't told us when, but my guess based on timing of the last rounds is that it will happen around March. I manage a handful of really good, really talented engineers, and I am sick of having to participate in this awful exercise. I'm not even allowed to reveal to them what little I know about what is going on, though I have tried to leave hints. Some of my peers are taking a sick pleasure in this, but I do not find anything to enjoy about it. I hope to be out the door myself before the next wave arrives.
More to come to Greenville and Schenectady ny. Predict first quarter.
As of 3pm they hit programers and technical people, nothing that could increase prodictivity and cut waste!!!
The do-nothing good old buddy boys network of managers in Greenville, were, as usual, teflon.
Digital coretech lots of managers and directors impacted today.
No managers in Greenville...all IC, mostly technical positions. There was a 30% reduction in manufacturing salaried positions, which included some supervisory roles (not many).
