@nmt: I hear "about 20". They really didn't pay attention to who they were laying off, as they canned some seriously talented people while leaving several others that do f'all mostly. From what I overheard, the decisions weren't based on individual reviews of people, which I mostly believe.
Fowler's org email did not give me the warm and fuzzies either, it sounded like this was the first of many layoffs to come.
