Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Santa Barbara shutting down next week

The California WARN notice for 12/4/2017 fits the rumors around shutting down the princely expensive Santa Barbara cloud operations site and consolidation to Fort Lauderdale . The SB site was used for citrix cloud operations but does not make financial sense to run it there anymore so it is being moved to FTL and subsequent shutdown and elimination of the site.

Good luck everyone

Guys, notice the WARN notice effective date is 12/4 which is 60 days after the 10/4 layoffs. It just means that those affected in October had their last day on payroll on 12/4.

It is the last day for people laid off in Santa Clara in October.

CA has this law that states if a company lays off more than 50 people at once, they need to be the payroll for 2 months. That is what this is about. If you notice, Santa Barbara isn't on the list. I dont know haw many people worked in SB but I am guessing less than 50 after GoTo was sold last year.

Citrix is a sh--hole but dont unnecessarily scare people working in Santa Clara.

Isn't this the 60 day WARN notice for the folks that were laid off on Oct 4th? Their last day on the books is Dec 4th.

The WARN act specifically states the permanent layoffs are in Santa Clara so it will definite affect the SC site. Don’t know who will be affected or left in the aftermath. There are only a few hundred people that work there so who will be left standing in the dust. Most everyone affiliated to the site is remote so this is really scraping the bones of the location . I’m guessing they will keep the EBC and support staff and eliminate everyone else not related to sales.
