Windstream appears not to be hiring CST's but are creating a new job title called, Station Installers. Bottom line, the Station Installers will be doing what the CST's do but for half the salary. Corporate greed is making their move.

I lol'd. So true. Stress would be higher if the big dogs had a clue how little time is spent on the projects they assume everyone is working on. I laugh when I see status reports full of fake #'s, those poor senior leader guys can't pat their backs fast enough. Front line is all laughing because we know how made up it is.
Top pay for CST is little over 28 where I am at. Insurance s---s. They have and will hire at top pay according to your experience. Would I make the move? Your looking at a significant drop in pay 3 to 4 an hour, then you pay a good amount for this so called health insurance. Honestly Win is a step back in time from AT&T. I left AT&T, because micro management, constant surpluses, constant forced OT, ...pay was good but no life outside the company, Win was in a lot better shape then. Right now Win seems like it is imploding. Tomorrow probably will hire another VP to rape and pillage (layoff, reorganize, etc.) before sinking. Executive level are just milking the cash cow, but no one is feeding her. Less stress at Win because no one (management} seems to have a clue what is going on in the real world.
What part of Windstream is laying pretty much all fields right now, don't you get? If they were to hire you, it would not be for "Max Pay"

Not for cst,s. Maybe prem tech's. That's how everyone starts now is as prem tech's. We where told last year after we reorged that they would no longer be hiring for ir anymore. But if they do they always go internally.
If you think it's bad at AT&T.....I would not come to Windstream. After 10 years and the last 5 being mass confusion and layoffs every 6 months. It's a no wonder I sit in customer meetings and get beat up daily for our incompetence. Yes, I will be leaving this place soon. Does AT&T have any openings for talent?
