We'll see how things pan out - the union is fighting back but it'll be hard.
For now, it's all in Germany but it will trickle down to the USA as well.

What’s happening in germany right now is pure theatre, designed to create the appearance of opposition. Do you really think the works council first learned of this in the media? Do not be naive.
Silly Americans!?! If it was so easy to just apply and land a job in one of those '15000' so called vacant openings. Then why are the Germans protesting and going ok strike as well? Siemenes goal is actually to reduce head count and save money by laying off salaries. If they really wanted to retain employees they would just reassign 15000 employees and not deal with this social unrest Germaby and PR nightmare. Silly European!!
Don’t complain! Siemens has 15,000 vacant job openings. You tell your boyfriend he apply for at least 5,000 of them. Solved problem. Silly americans.
Boyfriend showed up at work for 3 days in a row to find a sign on the door saying they were not working that day and today that said - Warehouse is closed for the week, Happy Thanksgiving. Ya, right. Basically taking this to mean that there is no job there but no one wants to say that. Actively looking for a new job. Who can work 2 day weeks (16 hours) and pay their bills without one word from the company as to what is going on and if they still have a job or not.
they fired today the global ciso
All in Germany? Not really. Lisa Davis sent us all an email this morning. Just shy of 2,000 heads to roll in the US.
Those that survive will get free stock in the spring. So cruel.
