Thread regarding Coca-Cola Co. layoffs

Layoffs coming in July and August

there are hundreds of people that will be let go in 2018 in the months of July, and August. Those were targeted 1 year after the layoffs started in 2017. The 2018 layoffs will take place in all regions. Those that were targeted for 2018 will start receiving the notices 6 months before the leave date.

Anybody knows where this info came from? I haven't heard anything about it...

I was let go at the end of April 2018 and the word then was that more layoffs were coming in July 2018. This whole thing has been kept very quiet, no details were leaked out ahead of time so I wouldn't expect to hear anything this time either. They're getting rid of the old timers who made a decent buck for people with little or no beverage industry / customer experience at all. They get them for about half the price not including the savings on benefits and of course the sacred cow, a retirement package!

I don't know where the 6 months information came from (I was let go on 2/26 after 25 years) but I did hear that there are more coming in July and August. And for those of us let go on 2/26, we were given 60 days....our last day is 4/30.

Anybody who thinks the layoffs are over at the Coca Cola company are just fooling themselves. It's gong to be an annual exercise as carbonated beverage sales continue to decline (especially within the US market). An educated consumer is Coke's worst enemy and (again especially in the US market) consumers are being more educated every day. If it wasn't for the high dividend paid on Coca Cola shares the company would already have been acquired.
