Thread regarding Sprint layoffs

Working from home is not akin to not working. I routinely work at home and work a minimum of ten hours a day or the work would never get done and the customers I am assigned to would be complaining to some VP. One cannot make such conclusions unless, of course, that co-worker comes in late every day and leaves early, then yes that is a good assumption. Of course my manager and director are aware of the long hours and if you need to leave early one day that is fine or if by some miracle you actually have a short day schedule then by all means take advantage of it. You run into the whole salaried vs hourly employee as well. Depending on what part of the company you are in your work day can be split and you are leaving early from the office since you are going to be on a three hour call with a business data network customer that evening. So I suppose it all depends on many things.

I worked for Sprint for many many years. Worried about layoffs everyday until finally I was laid off. Yes, it was a blessing.

yes. I worked with one of the Sprint Darlings. They did NOTHING for more than a year. When they actually had an assignment, they had to get a pair of GLASSES to see the terminal. I had never seen them wear glasses until that day. Geeze. If it wasn't so repulsive, I would have busted out laughing.

On the other hand....I see lots of people barely putting in 40 hours a week. People coming in @ 9 - leaving @ 3:30 or 4....working from home. I know there are some that are working hard to make Sprint a better company - wish there were more of us wanting to make a difference.
