How about you take another break and then come back in 6 months and tell us about all the "lies and misinformation". From what I see, most have come to fruition.

Yes. All the lies. Which is why things are so peachy here right now. It may not have happened on the exact dates people have said, but it's not like a lot of the things said on here haven't been happening. Just sayin'.

I haven't been here for awhile, so I thought I'd see what was going on...

...Silence...

probably caused by the caustic environment found on this site. All the lies and misinformation put forth here is why I left. Maybe it wasn't just me that got tired of it.

You have posted so many layoff predictions in the past. I do not ever remember you being right. Have you ever been right on your predictions?

Hmmmph! December 1st to see who stays and January 12 to cut everyone else. Only two dates I've heard floating around. Those days may come and pass without much change or the heads will roll. Don't think anyone knows until it finally affects them--either finding a new job or waiting until the Titanic finally sinks and hope you can make it to the row boat.

I assume the poster who reword people post and then make fun of the post was probably an ex employee who was fired from Cabelas. I will give you an example I posted Cabelas employees are working 10 to 12 hours 6 or 7 days a week, the poster keeps rewording the post to state Cabelas corporate employees. The poster is a liar and I would hope would be fired if he conducted himself this way at work

Funniest thing I have read on here......Cabela's corporate employees working 10 hour days, 7 days a week!!!!!! Yeah right!!!! The majority of the employees are checked out and noon Friday that place is empty!!!!!

That's hilarious...Cabela's corp employees working 7 days a week, 10 hours a day.

Come on ...seriously. At 5 pm the stampede starts and the building is empty by six. On weekends there are a handful of cars in the parking lot.

And yes this is a poster pretending to be another poster when Im really not a poster at all.

No wonder he has to work so much...he is using all his brainpower figuring out which anonymous poster is pretending to be another anonymous poster.

This site is quiet because of 2 reasons: 1) Those of us who are left are doing our work plus the work of the lucky ones who have found job elsewhere and have moved on and 2) we're all looking for jobs!

Cabelas employee are working 6 days or 7 days a week 10 to 12 hours a day .. we really do not have the time to respond to the poster who pretend to be other posters and post to themselves . we sure aren't going to rely on one thing this poster post . I assume this poster is a fired employee from Cabelas.

Think about how much BP paid to buyout Cabela’s. They need to pay that loan back with lots of money every month. Fastest way to save money, cut salaried positions and close unproductive stores, or also know as Sidney HQ.

The Sidney retail store and Sidney distribution center will maintain headcount, so they can conduct day to day business tasks. Now corporate will see major head count reduction, due to the fact BP has many of the same job positions in Springfield. No need to keep two of everything when they can (slightly) expand headcount in Springfield and run a skeleton crew in Sidney corporate to maintain day to day operations. Please, someone try and argue that fact. Please tell me how you think everything will remain the same at corporate. BP bought Cabela's to eliminate competition, not join two major outdoor companies. BP has to see return on their investment.

I can't believe this guy is still harping on 50 employees running Cabela's Sidney operation. You can't seem to understand the point. 50 people will be able to run it, because there WILL BE NOTHING HERE TO RUN! It will all be in Springfield.

Why is this concept so hard to understand.

Distribution centers and retail stores will be reviewed on if they offer a overall positive influence on bass pro company operation and not if bass pro has another store or distribution center

Does BP have the following departments? Retail sales/merchandising, distribution/supply chain, IT, purchasing/planning inventory, product development, or any other department that is redundant or similar to what Cabela's has in place. If so, all or most of those redundant departments, in Sidney, will be reduced in headcount and/or moved to Springfield. With the amount of debt that BP has taken on, reducing headcount/payroll is one of the quickest way to start saving money!!!!

100 Cabela's employees left behind to run Sidney operations isn't that far fetched. Doesn't mean they won't bring in some BP employees. Why does 100 seem unrealistic? What operations do you really feel are still going to need to be run by us?

I wonder why bass pro doesn't bring in the 40 super human employees from Missouri to run the Sidney operation as one poster stated they were going to do earlier. At least the 100 employees wasn't the dumbest post on this site anyway .

the poster who made the 100 employees will be retained to run the three divisions of Cabelas in Sidney)retail corporate and the distribution center) doesn't work at Cabelas. Just another post made so often on this site which doesn't have one bit of reality to the post. Any cabela employee with any bit of knowledge of the operation of the Cabelas operation in Sidney would realize this

I’d be willing to bet that shortly after the New Year over 50% of the corporate office gets a 2-4 week notice on their jobs. We’re no good after Christmas, seriously. The team is in Springfield right now helping BP figure out what roles they can do away with.

If they keep retail, dc, and It depts here will that be 100 to 300 people? People need to realize the ship is sinking and they need a life jacket to stay afloat.

Doesthe poster work at corporate who stated bass pro will keep a hundred people in Sidney to run the Sidney operation. I am doing a quick review of the procedures necessary to operate the Sidney operation which includes a retail operation, corporate and a distribution center in this matter which includes in at least 32 huge buildings and well in excess of a hundred different divisions. There is going to have to be a great deal of cross training. The cleaning woman at the distribution center may have to fill in for the director at corporate if the director goes on vacation, like wise the director at corporate may have to clean the restroom off site at the distribution center if the off site person is driving the truck and so on.

General consensus at corporate. Until I hear otherwise, that's the plan I'm going with. Sounds BP wants as few people as possible left in Sidney.

Yeah, why so upbeat??? What I'm hearing is at best, BP will leave around 100 people in Sidney. The rest are out of a job and few will get offers to move to Springfield. Again, why so upbeat?

To the excited person, so after all this time you still think 1 upbeat meeting and a manager that tells you everything is going to be ok is a sign that that's all true?? Most of us don't have the memory to recall all the times we were lied to by the company and by individual manager and directors.

It doesn't matter if it's BP or cabelas, they are basically the same.

And it's not an10 billion dollar company, one sold to the other who now has massive debt. You remember, right?? Cabelas had a ton of debt that they lied about? Now BP hasn't that.

If by great excitement you mean total silence and uncertainty of what is next, people leaving every week for new jobs or getting slowly laid off and low morale, then ya thats it.

To the Cabelas hater who post to himself all the time. I was at a meeting with my manager and the tone was so positive . Bass pro located in Sidney right now and the company is worth 10 billion dollars a company with 50 thousand employees 200 stores. This Christmas we will not be told to be five minutes early to Milner meeting to laugh at his dumb jokes or to applaud him for his comments ( which his policy is focused on one thing only and that what is best for TM: I know you were probably laid off from Cabelas however the tone right now is great excitement for the future and so much thanks the self centered TM is finally gone,
