Thread regarding University of Phoenix layoffs

How does UoPX still enroll veterans?

With all the scandals about University of Phoenix and the military community, how are they still enrolling more vets than any other schools?

Because the people who enroll military students actually work and do the job they get paid to do. Unlike the rest of the company that just sits there waiting to be fired; been that way for years.

Yeah. And?

Vets are $$ source. You explain how they can get free rent money if the just keep their GPA over 2.0 (and that is not hard to do, we can put you in a class combo where you really just have to sign in and post random stuff and get an A) and they sign up. They will harass you day and night if their money isn't hitting their accounts fast enough. We never hear from them complaining that a professor is letting them get away with being super lazy. Never. They do bi1ch like crazy if they for some reason end up in a class where the prof is new to UoP and is therefore applying a semblance of academic standards and the vets start failing that class which will wreck their GPA which will jeopardize their $$ flow.

Single moms are a great $$$ source! So scared. So naive. So easy to sell to. Most are dumber than rocks and will b--ch about eeeeverthing that could even remotely jeopardize their graduation date. I feel for the profs who have these passive aggressive nutj0bs in their classes.

Struggling folks. Ok, you have to dig for their pain point but when you find it - gold mine! They just sit there drooling and eventually get kicked out after about 3 semesters. With 15-20K in student loans debt.

UoP is run by a bunch of money grubbing mercs. Nobody lower on the food chain is going to do anything about that if they want to keep their Ok paying jobs.

It's a job. Our students are societal pond scum. Nobody cares. That is why this works.

So is this how all UoPX people think about student vets? Has this school really become a dumping ground for disabled vets, single moms, and other struggling folks?

Easy. Military doesn't want these people once we have squeezed them for a few years of 'service'.

Hell, we even now have to accept mental nut jobs and mutilators/cutters and the like: USA today: To meet last year’s goal of 69,000, the Army accepted more recruits who fared poorly on aptitude tests, increased the number of waivers granted for m-r-j-a-a use and offered hundreds of millions of dollars in bonuses. But accepting recruits with those mental health conditions in their past carries risks, according to Elspeth Cameron Ritchie, a psychiatrist who retired from the Army as a colonel in 2010 and is an expert on waivers for military service. People with a history of mental health problems are more likely to have those issues resurface than those who do not, she said."

We don't want them and don't need them. UoPhoenix will take them and babysit them for a few years. Thank you! Then they graduate, can't get a job, go on disability and drugs and then the VA takes over and babysits them until they kick the bucket. All on the taxpayer dime. Seems to work just fine. What's your problem dude?
