Matthew Patane More stories from Matthew Nov 10, 2017 at 3:03 pm | Print View Windstream Holdings has cut 11 jobs from its Hiawatha office as the communications company consolidates its business units.Little Rock, Ark.-based Windstream announced Thursday it would combine its business operations into just two units. The company employs about 350 in Hiawatha, spokesman Scott Morris told The Gazette. Those jobs include customer service, sales support and service delivery employees. The 11 employees have been notified their positions have been eliminated, he said. Windstream also cut jobs at other locations, but the company declined to provide a number. No other job cuts are planned at this time, Morris said.Windstream’s business unit restructure does not include changes to services the company provides, he noted. In a news release, Windstream CEO and President Tony Thomas said the “changes will enable us to accelerate our path to revenue growth” and improve customer experience.“These changes are based on the basic tenet that organizational structure should be nimble and follow the visions and strategy,” Thomas said.l Comments: (319) 398-8366; matthew.patane@thegazette.com

Some employees are still in denial & think the company is doing better. I had one of our long time business customer told me how bad Windstream was doing. That was about 2 weeks before a layoff. The writing is on the wall.

The company is in trouble no matter how they try to spin things as they are doing better...the continual layoffs, no annual merit increases, the dividend being eliminated and now no manager incentive quarterly bonuses...wonder what will be next....trip to the alps?
