I was just out of university and looking for my first assignment when it happened in the Houston corporate HQ. I was told if I wanted to progress in the company I should lighten up and have a little “fun” . I feel abused now. Has it happened to any body else? Should I report it to HR or will it mean getting fired?

if you dress provocatively in front of men, you dont have right to complain, you WILL be groped
If you have large pendulous breasts then the manager was justified in groping you.
Ethic is a joke inside this company...if you are a manager and someone complaint against you ....they will protect you ..nothing should affect the blue reputation ...
Why are you whining now, cupcake? You know you signed up for it willingly because you wanted to climb the ladder in the company. You know you asked for it, were a willing participant and most likely enjoyed it too. So why be a cry baby now? Oh I get, guess you didn't get that promotion you were expecting huh? Awwww lol
In case you haven't heard "grab them by the pu$$y" is grounds to make you president.
I think it was me who groped you
Stop by the office Monday morning
This is BS!
No man in slb with current level of stress and fear of losing job can get his d--k up, everyone is almost eunuch.
We need to have a clear policy on harassment in the toilets and it should be on the door do people are warned before they go in. You could rent out some ad space for lawyers also
YES LETS END GROPING IN OUR COMPANY NOW.
STOP THE GROPERS. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE
I was groped in the wireline cabin on an offshore rig in the North Sea. I reported it to the OIM and there was a full investigation done and the groper was fired. End of story they thought however I wanted a full police investigation of offshore groping as its a widespread problem and requested a complete ban on p--nography on offshore rigs and I was told no and was banned from going offshore again.
This is not fair to me and I felt totally disrespected my rights. It’s time to stand up against abuse and groping. If you agree respond to me with the words YES LETS END GROPING in your reply
How long ago this happened?
Was this within slb premises and office for outside slb?
Slb has nothing to do with this if this wasn't inside slb office or field, imo
I would suggest ethics line not slb HR.
Learning sometimes isn't fun.
So there’s no evidence, which means this is BS
This is very true and happening regularly in our HQ. To deny this is only supporting the perpetrators and making things worse for the victims. It’s time to support the victims rather than the abusers and put a stop to this once and for all.
Our young engineers deserve our respect and compassion.
Just a troll looking for reaction. BS
Any evidence that shows this is true? If not, BS
Pretty standard stuff in NAM during the 'boom' from 2006-2012 in the field and regional offices. Especially with new hires right out of school. Also, happened at operators. Reports were filed with HR in Houston, but HR generally wasn't trained to properly deal with this issue. Several 'investigations' would happen, and the result was that someone would get transferred, or more than likely the young woman would be labeled as 'difficult' or trying to use s-x as a means to get promoted - and, she would eventually quit.
This story is BS? Why do you say that without any evidence?
Maybe you work in HR so little wonder this type of abuse can’t be reported. Time to stand up for people rights and not just question the authenticity
Yeah, this story is BS
Just what I thought... Blah, blah, blah, blah!
There may be more than one. I was “exposed” to in a company restroom in Rankin road office. It was truly embarrassing and frankly shocking.
This is a very serious issue and if there is a “predator” in HQ we should know who it is - name and position please? Everything will be kept confidential of course
Complete BS
I an writing here about thus because I don't know what to do? This situation is really stressing me out and I am scared to talk with HR in case I lose my job. Do you think that accusing a senior manager of this type of thing is going to be uncontested? And what happens if the manage in question is a good friend of the HR manager which is the case here. I really hope to find out what i should do and with the recent revelations in the press about similar things I thought maybe this is a good time to come out into the open..............please help
Let's discuss the cold hard facts...
This same story appears every year of two and ends up either one of two ways. Either you are a man who is bored and have lots of spare time on your hands or you are a woman who needs attention. If you're a man then at least come up with a new angle as this story gets old- you are going to try to convince us that this is real, blah blah, blah! If you are a woman then wait 39 years to say anything so don't say anything. The fact you are a woman guarantees you are ahead.
The point is if this REALLY happened you wouldn't be on here writing about it, you would be up in HR's a$$ about it.
Let’s be clear I am a male engineer so does that make it worse or better?
Not in my opinion - abuse is abuse
This is the fast track route into executive management Im afraid. I guess it depends on how much you want that next job - personal integrity or career and money ?
I know what I would choose. Do it right first time.
If even a drop of alcohol was involved, forget about it.
Midnight insist a55 ra.p.e is common in society.
Too sad
Find a good lawyer and you will be able to get a few thousand out of that senior manager by threatening to take your story to the press and police. They will offer you money to sign an NDA. I know this because it happened before
Well if you want to get ahead give a little!
Get used to it baby. You work for Schlumberger now.
Little fun ? Or deep inside fun?
How old were you ? I am sure you were old enough to know that is nonsense! And you also just enjoyed it.
At some point I have been manager in slb and I have clearly seen how female employees are willing and wishing to do EVERYTHING with manager - no disrespect to anyone but it was disgusting. One I was out none of them returned my call.
In summary, you are on a wrong track, you will end up gaining nothing now. Sorry to say this, you should have thought about this when you entered job market.
How long ago was this?
Well we f you want to get ahead you have to go with the flow honey
Service company HR dept are powerless. They do as they're told by management or they're out.
HR will protect the manager.... I know from experience.
I know some VPs who made it to the top with this type of behavior in
Oh my this is terrible and you should report this to your HR manager. I feel bad for you end this should not he happening in our company. That said it’s not the first time I have heard about this in Houston HQ. You could also go to the press with your story as this kind of thing is hitting big the news right now
