This is nothing new for them, I was released mid year and told my position had gone away (RIF). A week later another manager had my old position title. Thing is, on paper there will be some small change, be it the sub-ledger or something else but in reality it is the exact same position.
I know this as in 2016 when I had to release some folks it was pointed out to me that doing this exact thing would allow me to remove folks on "RIF" but still open a new position to replace them. Ended up fighting to keep a couple and did cut a couple but did not backfill - obvious that the approach was nothing new however.
The PCP US PLM was notified he was going to be removed by a US leadership announcement.
Have there been any layoffs done with a new organization chart? If so, where? Has anyone got any real information about what is on the chart? Are any groups being shut down? Any real information?
Hey stop whining and get back to work.
Put a lower ranking title in that spot, change the job title and description a little bit; case dismissed.
