Good thing Ceon doesn’t sell two socket - oh wait they do!

Lol pathetic Centriq comparisons.

Q will get seriously negative ROI on this debacle and Hock is going to cut your underperforming azzes.

So there ARE customers. As for 32-bit, definitely not needed for server apps. The single Centriq chip has better performance than all Xeon chips (single socket) except for the two highest Intel skews. Stop spreading fud idots.

Q's server team will face the same fate of Bcom's vulcan team. Get ready folks. jump ship when you can. The announcement is just make Hock save them from the axe.

Good luck competing with Xeon-D and AMD Epyc.

This chip is a total lightweight.

The press release was meant to placate the ignorant.

The real metric will be how many Q will sell.

Probably close to zero.

What matters for web apps is having a large number of cores, not raw core power. Python, Ruby, etc. all work on ARM, and that's all web apps require. It's also low power. This chip isn't meant for scientific computing or graphics. This could be successful.

There was no stock boost for the server chip launch, because cutting into Intel is difficult regardless of how good your chip is, and while centriq is low power, it does not match it's rivals in performance and lacks the ability to do any 32 bit or x86, which is limiting for a lot of applications.

Epyc is probably a better choice for most not looking to go Intel.

Remember infrastructure? All it ended up doing was to force other RBS companies to lower their price, and this will likely follow a similar path, at least for several years, during which Intel will reduce their mask size and power draw to match, if need be.

it's not just the spec results that are really good, they can do it at 1/2 the power of Xeon

lov- you have no idea what you are talking about, I have seen the spec results and they are impressive. If you are a Q person, you should quit because you are trash.

Centriq is a joke.

AMD is the real competitor in servers.

Qualcomm will get no major customers.
