Amen. Spinmaster is a glorified dump. The may be a better company by way of profits, but don’t kid yourself that they’re grass is greener. it’s fertilized with the crap the employees couldn’t finish eating from their bosses. Soon enough we’ll be stabbing one another’s backs to keep our jobs when Hasbro takes over.

Look on any phone stock app dummy. the news is everywhere. they’ll do the same to you that they did with everyone else who left mattel. take you on, process what you know then show you the door. That’s how hasbro rolls. you will not be valued, you will be looked at as part of the overall problem. a cancer, pariah that they will welcome with open arms with knife ready to plunge into your unsuspecting backs. don’t think about spinmaster, we are full. maybe you can beg isaac for a job, i’m sure he would love to have mattel employees giving him a manicure or feed him grapes at his desk.

Just heard from a source that according to WSJ Hasbro as tendered an offer to buy MattHell, I didn't think Hasbro was that stupid but perhaps this place is so rancid that it's cheap enough to take the risk.
Yeah, well maybe not. Even if Hasbro was interested, it would be a LONG time before Monopoly (sic) and antitrust investigations would render a decision on the legality of a takeover. Much less the stupidity of a takeover. Mattel doesn't have much in assets or IP. Don't "Count Your Chickens" yet. And unlike Mat-Hell's cooperative game of the same name, there ARE winners and losers.
Hasbro has approached Mattel about a takeover.
If you Google him you'll see his MO/history which begs the question you just asked which is exactly how much stock did he buy?
I'm not a big stock market guy so not sure when this question gets answered and the ramifications after that.
Did he buy majority of stock in attempt at hostile takeover or just invest somewhat in company? Those are two very different actions with different implications. And what is his history with this sort of behavior?
Mario is either really stupid or really smart. He's really stupid if he's actually relying on our upper mismanagement to turn this talentless swamp around because that's not gonna happen.
He's really smart if this hellhole gets privately purchased, gutted, real estate sold, all mismangement fired, which will provide a lower retail price for a sku actually worth buying, not some cost reduced crap which will also now provide a higher margin with all this overhead now gone.
I've been predicting this for the last 10 years, perhaps the chickens have finally come home to roost.
The guy invested some money in MAT, he didn't buy the company and take it private. Relax.

anyhow, you guys are f---ed if he inserts himself (and it looks like he's about to do so).
he's ruthless and will go after the cash flow - will load you with loans and use the money to repay his equity firm for the investment. at that point, he'll start to cut deep (will happen very soon) and wide (again, to improve the cash flow) - the cash flow will be used to service the loans while he reorgs, splits the company and sells chunks.

If you thought bad, short term decisions were being made before, this will create even more pressure. Forget any proper long term, brand-building efforts.
