Update on Team-Member Benefits

As we continue the integration of Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shops, I’m pleased to share some team-member benefit updates. These benefits apply across the company to all Bass Pro Shops, Cabela’s, White River Marine Group and resort and hospitality team members. Our wonderful people are an important part of our success as a company, and I’m proud to be able to offer the following:

401(k) program update – U.S. Only

Vacation policy – U.S. Only

Employee-discount program

401(k) Program

As part of moving forward together as one team, I’m happy to announce an example of integrating the best of the best practices which benefits our hardworking people. The U.S. Cabela’s 401(k) plan is a strong program and we will be transitioning the U.S. Bass Pro 401(k) program to better align with Cabela’s. Amongst many improvements to this program, Bass Pro Shops team members will now see the benefits of a 100-percent employer match of the first four percent of elected deferral contribution, which is consistent with the Cabela’s plan. This will be effective Jan. 1, 2018. For more information on this, please click here.

Vacation Policy

Vacation policies will remain unchanged for both companies through 2018. Please continue to follow your normal time-off procedures.

Team-Member-Discount Policy

I’m also proud to be able to extend and expand multiple discounts to our people. These will help get our high-quality, proprietary brands into the hands of our team members, and will also provide them with access to our world-class destinations. This, in turn, helps our team members provide valuable feedback about our quality products to our customers. This all leads to more time and experience enjoying the outdoors!

RETAIL:

All team members can shop at both Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shops retail stores, with more than 160 locations across North America.

Beginning Jan. 15, 2018, all team members can receive the following discounts:

45 percent off Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s proprietary, branded merchandise.

15 percent off all other national-brand merchandise.

Please note:

The team-member discount is not applicable on marine electronics, outdoor electronics, firearms, black-powder firearms, ammunition, reloading equipment, scopes, bows, arrows, taxidermy, temporarily marked-down items and non-Bass Pro Shops or Cabela’s branded reels.

Proprietary products will still receive the discount except for firearms and ammunition categories.

If an item is temporarily marked down as part of a sale, team members pay either the temporarily marked down price or their discounted price, whichever is lowest.

The team-member discount may only be used to purchase in-stock, in-store product. Team-member discounts will not be offered online or at the retail-store kiosks.

Team members in locations that are not near retail stores will be able to apply their discount on phone orders, which will need to be shipped directly to their office location. A list of these locations will be provided as we approach Jan. 15.

BOATS:

Team members receive discounts on the White River Marine Group family of boat brands and parts and service at company boat centers. More information on this will be provided as Jan. 15 approaches.

HOSPITALITY:

Our nature-based outdoor resorts and beautiful, wilderness vacation destinations provide a first-rate experience for anyone who loves the outdoors. I’m so thrilled that now all team members will be able to receive discounts on various accommodations and services offered at Bass Pro Shops hospitality and outdoor adventure destinations including Big Cedar Lodge, Big Cypress Lodge, Top of the Rock Ozarks Heritage Preserve, world-class golf amenities and more. The discounts for these vary, and I encourage everyone to check out these locations’ websites for more detailed information about the properties. More detailed information about the team member discount will be available soon.

CONSERVATION ATTRACTIONS:

As everyone knows, conservation is at the heart of our united company, and is a big piece of how we can continue to have a profound impact on the future of the outdoors. To continue to provide easier access to the outdoors and all of its wonders, team members will be able to receive discounts toward admission and membership to Dogwood Canyon Nature Park and Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium, two not-for-profit conservation attractions located in Missouri’s Ozark Mountains.

These updates are just one way to demonstrate the rapid developments taking place to bring better value to our combined organization. As integration continues, we’ll continue to look for opportunities to provide the best of the best for our customers and also for you – our valued team members. Note that the full, updated policy with these benefits in it will be provided as Jan. 15 gets closer.

I would enjoy the discounts while they last. If the last five years of retail is any indication of the future, these discounts won't last. The margins are just too low. The future doesn't look bright for these types of business.

You and all the other posters on this site need to read through the agreements of this website. IT IS ALL TRACKED USING LOGGING. IF THE LAWYERS/COURTS GET INVOLVED, THIS WEBSITE WILL HAND OVER ALL LOGGING AND WHO POSTED THE INFO. If BP wanted to find out who is posting internal the HR doc, they could go that route and the poster will pay for it.

Realize whoever is posting this stuff is making the Outfitters of Cabela’s look real dumb.

There is no traceability to this site beyond moronic posters trying to incite fake news. The days are numbered for most of us. Thanks to being an American and the freedom of speech - we can share and be aware of what we know. Let’s make the best of it and move on

Unhappy? Then MOVE ON and find a new job. It's only a job and not your life.

Everything is tracked on this website. I hope the company finds out who posted this and goes after them.

You'll get no argument on the merger issue....Mr 30 years at the DC has been banned...by his doctor. This site was getting him to excited. High blood pressure. I think it was too many burgers at the "Dollar."

First of many things to erode the culture that was Cabela’s. The tiered discount was to reward loyalty and years of service. Now gone. Vacation policy to be reviewed next year - which will undoubtedly also be reduced. First of many things to be taken away with this buy out. This was NO MERGER kids!

The discount is no good to laid off employees.

What is left to keep us working here? The 401K is about the only thing for me now but even that is not anything special compared to other employers. This place is lousy.

In stock and in store?! Its a shame when your own employees are going to take the Amazon route.

LOL, so much for working for extended years at our stores, time to go back to buying products from local outdoor mom and pop stores, who actually have better prices on bows and firearms. Back to shopping at outdoor events around my particular state. LOL
