Good HR can be replaced with a good spreadsheet on CMS. Then we're all HR pros!!
CBI keeps talking about their $100 million cost reduction program. Has anyone explained just what that program is and how they plan on going about achieving this?? Their laying off people and letting good people go will not achieve that objective. What other ways do they plan on implementing to achieve this??????
Dear Mr. “Get HR Out of the Picture” - it is situations where HR is not in the picture that have helped get CBI into this predicament. Good companies - great companies - lean on HR for their expertise in the management of people. It is a very specialized consultative role an engineer knows little about. If you pay the money to hire good HR people and then actually listen to them, you will have a better company and CBI has failed in this regard.
They are laying off all of the good managers they had and keeping all of the family and click members! It’s such a shame. That is a ton of experience that they are laying off!!!

Good engineers do not come cheap. We are not widgets. Need to get HR out of the picture. That is true for companies in general. Recruiters are driving me crazy with their widget orders.
