I am fairly certain that layoffs are coming in the new year - either Jan or Feb. Announcement before the Q3 results announcement to get a lift-off.

@iithy - I’ve seen management go out if their way to keep “their favorites”. I know a Director that should have been worked out if this company when they had their very first role as an individual contributor. Yet they actually would tell you that they feel they deserve a seat at the “big table”. The lunacy is sometimes hard to believe but it is corporate America and that alone says enough. So you keep telling yourself that people could have done something about it. In some cases you are right. But for all the good in the world don’t be that naive.
"Not Dead Weight" is interesting... often means it was a "Nice Guy/Gal" If the person was working their a-- off, being productive, worth keeping they would have been transitioned into one of the many jobs that are open. Anyone losing their job s---s! For them, their families, their kids, but often there is something they could have done about it...
They only have to send out a email if its above a certain percentage of the company.
Its death by a thousand cuts sure they will do it again and some of the people who got cut were not dead weight.
NOT fake news!! Some good people let go today in SVL, not sure about their workload but they were good team players. Also, heard some RTP reps were impacted. Not sure about Pittsburgh, Wichita and other NetApp locations.
Don't have total numbers but apparently HW Eng. was hit hard.
No emails or announcement made from Sunnyvale.

I was impacted by the “reorganization”. I’m not sure of the rationale on this downsizing exercise.
Not Fake News this time. But the cuts seemed to be very targetted though. I know someone who's director was cut and it sounds like a few engineers. Haven't heard total numbers though.
Either this is "Fake new", or very different from prior layoffs. For the last ~5 layoffs, there was ALWAYS an email from the CEO around 8am EST, saying that they had to take "people actions" and such. No such email today from the top. So, either this is rumor/false, or it's a smaller/different layoff ???
I don't think it's very big. I hate to say it but the people I know that got hit were all pretty much coasting or redundant.

Most of my team just got whacked. Just me and some directors standing, one of which should definetly be gone. I haven't been told either way yet. But no mystery meetings on the calendar yet.

we're pocket change to Cisco's revenue w/ a 14% drop in corporate taxes.
