What GRC NY jobs are moving to India? There are 0 postings for GRC Bangalore. There are dozens of postings for engineers, but those are jobs at the business which are application focused. No different from CTC... It no longer exists as a GRC, but there are many people there doing engineering for the businesses. That is the expansion in Bangalore that is being reported.

This is literally nothing new. I work for a large engine's component shop and Pune has already been making LEAP components as well as others, with our oversight. The LEAP demand is simply too great to handle in all US based shops Engine assembly and test will stay in Evendale/Peebles

They are also moving many GRC NY jobs to India.

Looks like GE thrust is to move everything they can to India to cut cost.

This is just the beginning, many ore moves to India 2018

Power has also moved a lot of the turbine business to India as well and even set up new facilities with Tata and Trevini.

Look up Trevini India turbine web site and it shows and advertises what they do.

Problem is that many customers don't want to buy products they don't know and are not connected from, especially in USA. Also real costs are high when you add in transportation costs moving heavy turbines on ships, then long truck rides.

This is why Power is not making money even though t looks like cheaper labor. Now they have tp fire 12,000 workers and close many of the duplicate facilities they now have. Power cost structure s a mess.

Does anyone know which components they will be, or is that info still up in the air?

Yeah it's the real deal. They are moving a bunch of Leap engine components over there to make with TaTa. Sounds like a lot more as well. Google that if you want. Was hoping I was safe in aviation :/

All,

Here is the link to the article for the arrogant and lazy......

As for the kool aide drinker.....define "new venture"? I especially enjoyed the manufacture, assemble, integrate, and test of the "new" LEAP components. Did you catch the phrase....."new" excellence center? Don't they have one of those at Evendale? Wait....isn't the labor and engineering much cheaper in India? Must need to free up some space "cash flow" for those 50K Holiday parties.

Is this part of the joint venture with TATA corporation? That’s a new venture and not work we have now.

If the 3D printer is made in India, I'd say the 3D printer. No telling what kind of mutation would result.

Everyday on facebook there's a new GE post regarding aviation and additive manufacturing . So which is more dangerous, the move to India or the 3D printer?

If this is true then an economic meltdown won't be far behind it. Hang on to your hats it's going to be a bumpy ride next year.

Bogus as usual. Apparently you folks have not worked with Indian workers before.

Send some of your XPL program folks there as see what happens!

GE will now shift as much manufacturing to India as possible.

This is not just making a part or two.

There will be wholesale movements starting as soon as they can

Wait and see

Fake news. GE will have a component manufactured in India. No different than any other non domestic supplier. The sky isn’t falling...
