They were told this past week. They can apply to other positions if they want to in the company.

Smart move ... wipe out HR at store level ... that should really help the engagement scores ...
Seems the only HR execs that got placed are under the age of 50. Execs with many years of service and therefore higher salaries were all cut.
HRM's were told if they were being placed today. They were told about the job elimination a few weeks ago and were told to app;y for other position, like the HRBP position or something else. Any HRM with a brain saw the writing on the wall and knew this was coming for months.
What? Have they been placed in other positions? When is this going to be announced? I have heard this was going to happen, but I cannot imagine our HRM not being in the store.
All HR Manager positions eliminated today.
Not to mention the fact that it is not a very intuitive system; plus it seems to be non-functional in certain ways
Ha ha... I had to laugh about the comment re 65-75 year old associates going onto MyHR. This is so true, and sadly, it’s not just the older associates. There are many associates who struggle with Insite. We hire so many candidates with English as a second language - this move will crush the SMs as all the follow up will land at their doorstep. Do other retailers have HR in their stores? I wonder if this is a model that WalMart, Target, Kohl’s, etc employs.
yeah I can see our 65-75 year old associates going on to MyHR and getting their requests done. Sure thing. Long term people still having their managers or ast input their vacations because after all these years they still want do it and weve allowed them to get away with it. Sure they are going to go online and get it done. Need a LOA? Yep, that's easy. Question about your insurance? Yep, that's easy too.... oh boy this is gonna be GREAT!!!!
In all the literature about ONE HR and what is to come, there is no mention of the role of AST and HR. What is their role in this?
For the enterprise – HCM will be live January 1.
• Associates will be able to go into Self Service and complete or initiate actions
(like change address, report a life event, enroll or update benefits, check a
pay slip, update state & federal tax forms).
• The People leaders (this will be the term you start to see for
managers with direct reports) will have some additional functionality
in MyHR to be able to initiate some transactions that in the past they
had to partner with HR to complete… such as trigger a termination.
• It will be replacing PeopleSoft for our daily transacting.
• In a moment, we’ll break down what that means.
• You’ll see that over the next year additional modules will become
available in HCM
• Oracle HCM is a cloud based technology which will allow us to be able to
receive upgrades and enhancements on a very regular basis. That just means
we need to become used to the fluidity of the tool.
It's not high tech. Just centralized. Less wiggle room. Fewer human interactions and strict adherence to the rules.
When will they know if they are going to be offered another position?
Who will over see the loa's, handle associate issues, recruiting etc? Our hrm does that and do much more.
exactly. getting rid of the hrm position does NOT equate to getting rid of employees. most stores do not have hrm's in the store. the hrm's have known this was coming for a while. there is a reason for cutting ast this past year twice, one being the introduction of DMET, so the company can go "hi tech". most of the ast job right now is HR. the company assess what AST does by sending out a task list to find out how long it takes to complete certain tasks. this helps determine staffing with any changes coming. have you not seen what is going on with insite january 1st? changes in structure of the stores is coming and it will be pushed mostly on the associate and manager to own the process. this will not be a one year process.
It is not that the company is getting rid of HR, it is just going "hi-tech." Anywhere a computer can replace a human, the company will do so.
Bit concerning when a company starts getting rid of HR. If they don't need HR anymore, they won't need employees soon either.
