Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

Losing the locker room

There’s an expression in sports - “losing the locker room.” When a coach loses the locker room he or she no longer has the confidence of the players and the team no longer functions as a whole. When that cohesiveness is gone it’s darn near impossible to get it back. I’m afraid Windstream’s executives have already lost the locker room. It’ shows in every post on this board and in every conversation around every water cooler in the company. What dwindling talent is still there no longer feels the fight for a shared goal. You can look in their eyes and see the exhaustion and exasperation. They still show up and put in the hours but they’ve lost that multiplier effect that comes from working with shared spirit. Sports organizations solve the problem by cleaning out coaching staff. Windstream prefers to boot the players.

Doom and gloom.....class of telecom space? Wow. I’m guessing that changing your vision annually to disrupt your customers service is classy. I also guess that making the customer sign agreements that they trust you can provide, only to fail to mention that service is unattainable in the timeframe you promised is a class act. I also take it that every dept changing personnel and putting unqualified empty headed flow chart reading employees in place that can’t change their own screen saver is an asset to the cause. I wish you good luck with that. Oh, and please remember this post when you head for the employment security commission

You people make me sick .... doom & gloom everywhere on this site. It’s like x-wives that won’t go away and keep asking for more money. Windstream is fast becoming the class of the telecom space. Don’t like it here - leave ! Go to Frontier , fast becoming the home of all the former employees of Windstream. Hmmm, maybe that’s why that Company is in trouble now.

Hey 2 cents.......you are a Baffoon. His is what forums are for, that’s why you are here too. We voice opinions and you voice yours. As an employee for 18 years at Windstream, I’ve worked my a-- off to bridge the gap, keep customers, and elevate my training just to see management screw is over and over. I’ve seen it, I’ve lived it so shut your donut hole and take your rah rah to a planet full of management which is what you obviously are

Losing The Locker Room,

Excellent analogy. Go ahead and forward this post to the major news sources. It's funny how Windstream can lay off hundreds of workers and local news sources will report that Windstream let 17 people go in an area.

The PR people at Windstream are very calculated and they are actually very good at their jobs. Windstream likes to publish some BS corporate update to SDWAN or Wireless several times a week whenever the stock is in freefall or when the market has bad news to report on Windstream. But the PR guys are always there keeping some very minor or esoteric idea reported as fresh news. Now that's what Fake News is all about. Good job fellas, Tony needs to give you a fat bonus. Seriously.

Here’s my 2 cents...

Get to work, make a difference, stop starring into co-workers eyes or go work somewhere else. There is work to do and you are a just a number are any company. Get over yourself and be a leader with a good attitude, instead of chicken little. Damn.

News flash for you.

Know why it seems the Executives dont care about you?

GASP!

Because they don't.

They know what's coming and you're clueless, so you assume they need your morale high, etc, etc.

No, they don't, not for what's coming. You're 100% expendable.
