Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

I survived another GE Layoff - Brief Relief?

I feel like a ton of bricks have been released from my shoulders because I SURVIVED another GE Layoff. My question is how long will this false sense of security last? This layoff feels a little different from all the other layoffs in recent years as I saw the shocked look in coworkers eyes as they walked out the door with their layoff documents. Layoffs ALWAYS are coming to GE. It's just a matter of time.

When will the stress return? When will layoffs return? Without a doubt, layoffs will return. When?

GE recently announced they will lay off 12,000 employees.

Big hits will probably start in Q1 to get workers off payroll and benefits as soon as possible.

Make sure you have a good plan B

As bad as things can be with life disruptions, having to move, living like a rat at GE waiting for next layoff in toxic work environment

There is life after GE if you have the skills and go where the work is.

Moving against your will is a real drag though

You have time to get your resume, linkedin and your home in order. Seriously. You were given time, don't waste it by goofing off. Fix your house as if you were to sell it. Don't buy a new car.

Honestly I believe we all know it will hit multiple times in the coming years.

Another reason to start looking for another employer. Who needs this constant stress with the threat of layoffs always hanging over your head, horrible management, the taking away of a once excellent healthcare plan, vacations, bonuses.......

Most likely every quarter in 2018, possibly into 2019.
