Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Our new “leader”

What I think is interesting is that this is Fawad’s first executive level position. Both of his former employees (EBay and Staples) lost revenue during his tenure, the university he got his Bachelors degree from lost accreditation due to lack of rigor, the law school he graduated from is rated in the bottom 10 in the country, and he insists all the leaders in Systems have technical backgrounds yet his degree is in Marketing. So after a “six month exhaustive search” this was the best candidate that could be found to lead a complete restructuring of an 8,000 person highly complex Systems Department? Pretty sad....

Tipsord is just as bad. He has worked nowhere else in the industry and cannot bring an outside perspective. His whole career has been inside the State Farm bubble. What innovative ideas can he bring to the table? What has he seen work or not work in other companies. He’s seen nothing except the inside of the State Farm bubble. All I have seen is him running State Farm into the ground. A law degree is not a business degree sorry to say. State Farm should have found somebody better with more business savvy and experience.

LOL @ Farquad.

Maybe he'll try to marry Pettit and, at the last minute, they'll both be eaten by a dragon.

Farkwad. I heard he puts his secretary in tears and has bodyguards. Once his hatchet work is done he'll golden parachute his attorney beancounting azz elsewhere. Sooner the better.

The part that owns the book of business.

Lots of failing companies have been snatched up for their market share. And the buyer may not care about the inefficiencies, presuming to absorb the BOB into their own structure.

I wish I could remember the name of the company that was floating around 6 or 7 years ago...

Who would catch this falling knife? Losing customers hand over fist. Can’t price competitively. Intentionally decimated a world class claim force. Inept leadership. What part of this company is desirable for a potential suitor?

To me, his hiring only makes sense in the context of State Farm being sold to another company, similarly to the way Staples was sold off. If so, his purpose isn't making State Farm Systems better or more efficient -- it's making State Farm look better on paper.

There were rumors of a buy-out floating around back in 2008/2009. Perhaps they were more than rumors, and maybe the economic downturn killed them temporarily.

Of course, the only people who know sure aren't talking.
