Cutting 12,000 heads has to be the clearest indicator of how incompetent senior management is in GE.
As an engineer in GE Power, I've been used to having my technical decisions highly scrutinized. And rightly so. If we put out a product that fails, the company fails. Too bad these clowns don't get the same level of scrutiny.
The same story keeps playing out: arrogant, know-it-all managers flit about backslapping each other for a job well done - upending the lives of 12,000 people. Despicable.
I know a number of the 12,000. Some of them are very high performers. Message #1: people don't matter at GE. Message #2: performance doesn't matter at GE.
How can you claim otherwise?
