Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

Immelt, Bornstein, and a few other...

Makes me wonder if they sugar coated the truth about GE’s operations, so they could steal a fantastic compensation package from GE? After they were out, he truth comes out! Why would they care then? They got their cash..... They destroyed GE. Now we all have to pay...

I don't believe the "lied" to get their $ but I do think they were arrogant enough to think they could make the near impossible happen. At the end, they were bluffing and the board finally called them on it.

@cdf - What that tells me is General Electric wanted out of the O&G business for a long time, and they had to acquire BHI in order to make that happen!

Of course they were lying. How else would one explain this:

"GE Power, the General Electric Co. subsidiary that is headquartered in Schenectady, saw its first quarter profit surge 39 percent to $797 million amid recent job cuts last month that impacted scores of local families."

...and that was only 6 months ago and 2 months before they fired Jeff & Steve.

Doesn't the acquisition of baker Hughes set any alarm bells for heaven's sake? 6 months later they want to get rid of it. What does that tell anyone.
