Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

Is anyone else infuriated by the GE Commercials?

The perky, upbeat ads are at odds with a 46% decline in share price and the way the have thrown tens of thousands of families into chaos with their gross mismanagement and CAS hubris.

GE is all but done for. My relatives constantly complain about the poor quality of the consumer products they have bought with the GE name on them, especially the appliances. I personally haven't bought any GE products in years.

The purpose of the commercials is to maintain a positive public imagine in light of our negative stock price.

Those GE adds are very annoying, and fake.

One shows a young girl developing a robot that does an inspection of an axial flow steam turbine last stage buckets.

This is bogus. There is no such inspection. There are many, many physical measurements and hand fitting required, but not this crap shown in the commercial.

Problem is, that the GE Power management don't know any of this and believe this crap.

GE Power management used to be world class experts, now very few know the business and just want to get promoted by changing things they don't understand.

GE Power is now a mess and can't make money despite $7.41 Billion in sales

What does GE make that a commercial is going to sell?

Whatever happened to those jobs about GE being a software company ? Ramp up hiring and then lay every one off two years later. Good money management move by GE

You're right. I am part of this mess since I was suddenly cast aside after spending most of my career at GE. Is it whining when the company gloats on national TV about how progressive they are and clearly apparent mismanagement resulted in not being able to send you kids to college?

Those ads are designed for the network to not talk s*** about GE, the energy sector, or oil and gas. They aren't really to sell you anything, they keep the bobbleheads on network news in line by reminding the owners who pays their bills.

Well, for now, anyway.

Its especially infuriating when they are on the TVs in the break room at work. They always seem to be on right after I leave yet another meeting where I have no say.
