Just confirmed some groups such as sourcing are going to take a 40-50% hit based upon 2018, 2019 volume. Folks are going to have to repost for positions. I do not know what manufacturing and engineering will have to cut. People will ask where is this occurring? Answer, Anyplace they in the US they are located. Could be Greenville, Schenectady, Wildwood Atlanta. This not fake news. If you think it is ...get off your a$$ and go ask them. Time table ..soon.

Is GE Power in Greenville laying off people this week/
A 50% reduction in sales would not correlate to 50% headcount cut. Salaries are a small part of GE’s cash flow. Reducing inventories, consolidating offices and divestures are where the big $ are. Not going to argue the point further but 50% is not a reasonable number...we will see before year’s end either way.
GM/Delphi treated me well and GE treated me better than initially over time. My last manager was the best, she had brains and she was also fair.
In the end, I think it'll be a matter of lack of sales. What can be done when the world is saturated with Gas Turbines?

Again, just pick up the phone and call brothers in MSD sourcing for heavy frame units. Talk all you want about the percentages. The number is between ~ 40-50% reduction in jobs. It could be 30% , 60% whatever. I do not set the RIF percentages criteria, the idiots above us set it. Do you honestly, think engineering, HR, management you name it in power are not going through the same discussions as sourcing? Stop posting "fake news" ..this not Donald trump news , this real life GE reality these days. Please be smart and get your resume ready! That is are we saying. Why is 50% nonsensical? The operating profit for GE Power was 50% less than 3Q16, A 50% reduction seems like a realistic response by the company. What's the reasoning to think it would be a lower percentage?

Why is it hard to believe MSD sourcing is going to have head count cut. Wake the hell up! You got 50 -55 gas turbines in build plan for 2018 , if you take out flange to flange units going thru the factory. It very obvious , people do not want to believe the layoff news. Oh, well ! Hey, here is some news you can pass in then. GE is hiring 1000 in Schenectady!
