I have seen so many people fired (not laid off) by Schlumberger in the past several years that I am not even sure why they need layoffs anymore. Good, hardworking employees who have been with the company for several decades were shown the door for highly suspicious infractions. These people were valuable to the company, yet Schlumberger treated them like dirt.
This makes me honestly wonder why they even do layoffs anymore? Would it be too suspicious if hire-ups just fired everybody? Opened them up to a suit? I actually hope some of the people who were fired like this do end up suing them. They keep this up and Schlumberger will have a reputation that will keep any employee worth anything away from us. Not sure how we'll be able to function then.
