It seems like a very large number of remote workers have been let go after Citrix encouraged this as a work style.

I lost my job in October and I worked remote. I know one other person who also worked remote who was laid off. They do want people in office in Fort Lauderdale.
It's not an industry trend actually. It seems to be at a lot of companies who are dated or struggling. Id you want to be a remote worker, theres are a lot of companies that thrive on its remote workforce so I'd suggest taking a look at them as a new career. That's what I did when I was laid off as a remote employee and found some great innovative companies love remote working. Citrix is trying to save itself in a dying industry they're no longer considered a competitor in. Kind of like yahoo. And IBM.
It's an industry trend. Does it sound hypocritical of Citrix? Sure. Should you give a sh*t about it? No. If you are sullying and dwelling on this, me thinks you have too much time in your hands. Busy people do not dwell on "things should not be this way." Things are, or they aren't. Learn to pick your battles dude.

Although it is an industry-wide trend and Citrix messaging has since changed, financial decisions were made based on corporate backing that should be honored.
its an industry wide trend to eliminate remote workers, and Citrix is actively reducing the number of remote workers, even though Citrix makes tools and technology to support remote workers.
Happening everywhere. The gravy train is over.
Hmm. Sounds like you can work anywhere as long as 1-you are at the office, 2-the office is Fort Lauderdale!!!
