Not only SG&A and central engineering, large number of fat cats who destroys the company within would be removed.
Yes - mainly SG&A ,unprofitable businesses and Central Engineering were in the forefront when AVGO acquired BRCM. Engineers in BUs were safe and were compensated way better in RSUs and bonus.
Well, it's not a good time to be in QCOM SG&A, that's for sure.
Broadcom cut 1900 out of 10000 when Hock acquired it. So maybe not 59%, but more like 20%.
All losers to cry !!! Hahahaha
Things are changing much faster. SD housing likely to be impacted as 59% cut imminent now.
@pse That is an amazingly naive view of the situation.
Now, QCOM is focussed on mobile. If mobile doesn‘t do well, we have to get through that somehow. We have to innovate, become more productive, become more efficient. But our focus stays the same.
After the acquisition, there will be a Broadcom that is focussed on many things. If one of them doesn‘t do well, then they can reduce that focus. Mobile doesn‘t do well? Ah, so what? Let‘s reduce the headcount in that area by 50% and focus on more profitable areas.
Have a look here and check out how many companies from the mobile business Broadcom has already swallowed: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broadcom#Acquisitions
Only overlap is wifi. Shouldn't be that high. Bcom needs Qcom's modem and Snapdragon, which is basically all their business.
At least 50% cut. I said ATLEAST. Any doubt on it?
