Layoffs in GE Digital and GE Power Software Business

Update on layoff/RIF affecting software business units in Melbourne, FL, Redmond, WA, and Denver, CO:

  • June 2017: 30 software people left on early retirement plan

  • August: 60 people laid off ("wave 1")

  • October: 30 people laid off ("wave 2")

Affected functions: Sales, Marketing, R&D, Legal, Finance, and HR

In Europe, hiring freeze on software positions in Bucharest, Romania, Paris, France, and Milan, Italy.
