The big announcement was rather dull. Lots of build up to the new name, which was the part that no one cares about. People care about if they are going to have jobs, not what someone came up with for a name for this new department.
It also seems that we need more directors, there are not enough now I guess. Need to get more of these folks so they can intentionally leverage the right dialogue.

Wonder if R&D will still exist after this. My guess is there will be no more real research work.
R&D at State Farm. What a joke?! Their innovations department had some really good ideas, many of which were ahead of the curve, and very well-document and researched. However, as soon as they were pitched outside of the innovations department they were denied, tabled, or abandoned at the behest of management. No one in senior leadership has any guts to try new ideas. Mike Smith, CEO of SF Bank, is extremely anti-technology. I remember him dismissing autonomous vehicles and other feedback from SXSW at a town hall event a few years back. Glad I escaped. Godspeed to the rest of my former colleagues.

I am sorry if this is a stupid question, but what's an RGE? I've been a Systems employee for almost two decades and will be for another 5 months... but never heard of the term.
