Thread regarding Tenet Healthcare Corp. layoffs

Tenet will lay off over 1000 people in 2018

For all folks that are saying that it'll never happen to us, I have one question: how do you feel about Tenet now? The cuts will happen and I am afraid that they will not stop at 1300 that they announced last week. Now, you can argue that things will turn around and that all companies in the industry are struggling (this is for true) but at the same time nobody is talking about cutting executive bonuses, reining in frivolous spending, etc.

Not sure what to tell you, I've had a good 11 year run here but I am afraid that I'll be looking into different options.

Good luck to all!!!

I was part of second wave of Outpatient coders laid off from Tenet. A sad state of affairs. They announced laying off a 1,000 more jobs and hiring offshore....

All of the outpatient coders-Tenet wide--are being laid off this summer. Our jobs are being outsourced to Lexicode--who hires people out of the Philippines and other foreign countries to code all outpatient and ER records. Good Luck with that!

I worked there until recently. Lucky to get out when I did. Found a great job elsewhere in the Dallas area. It is a nightmare there. The chickens are coming home to roost, so to speak. The top executives and I mean from the very top down were spoiled, unethical, frivolous and horrible to work with. Everything last minute and on a whim. Everything related to making the top execs feel special. Spent money on unnecessary expenses, like stupid decorations for events, special accolades for people who didn't deserve them, but didn't take care of people doing the real work. Benefits were average at best, other than the health insurance, which you would expect to be good, right? This is karma. Unfortunately some good, caring, hard working people will be laid off as a result of the mismanagement of the spoiled, people at the top of the company. Good luck, Tenet. Best best is to be bought by a reputable company and for Tenet to go away. It is awash with unethical, rotten, pretend-to-be leaders.

They may want to start improving things by showing employees some appreciation. Also, the management should stop lying about fake opportunities for advancement - it's not true, period... They should also be more upfront about things going on in the company - we do not need to hear that all is milk and honey and then they drop the news that a ton of people will be losing jobs.

"eliminating regional management layer" is not going to be enough
