Why does cellular modem add value proportional to the selling price of the device?

When you go to buy a car or a piece of furniture, do they charge you based on the house you live in? A Toyota is a Toyota whether in Chula Vista or Rancho Santa Fe.

Cellular modem is just one (shrinking) functionality of the device. It doesn't have to be top of the line every year. There is plenty of bandwidth for the users already.

Q is focused on litigation and milking a dying business rather than innovation. Q is done

The reality is modem is no longer important any more. Too bad Qualcomm still doesn’t want to face it.22

Don't understand why people still believing QC is needed everywhere? QC is done due to their poor management and their greedy attitude. A $5 dlls modem sell it for $30 cmon!!! This is yes stealing!! Just think about Snapdragon cost vs selling cost plus IP and other BS. Too costly for customers

The truth is that it is not a top-of-the-line modem that makes a top-of-the-line smartphone for most people.
