It was a bad day at IGT during the November 1 layoff day. I remember getting called for meeting that was going to be training meeting and during the meeting Dallas told us that we are all layoff. HR was also their too and gave everyone a packet. And this happened a few months after quality assurance (PA team) was layoff.
Because non-compete agreements are so restrictive, they are often restricted or not enforceable. In California, non-competes are effectively illegal unless you are selling a business. Other states will enforce some provisions, usually the trade secret protection, but not the work restrictions.
Moral of the story, sign it and then go work for WMS or Aristocrat.
They are some low down dirty scoundrels for that.
Get a new job wherever you want, their non-compete is illegal and worthless. If a potential employer asks you can honestly say that you do not hold a non-compete agreement with IGT.
Yes. They made us all do a new non compete if we want severance. They called us in under the guise of an HR training meeting. I bet Mr. Dallas gets a big bonus for cutting costs.
I wonder, did they make the dearly departed sign non-compete agreements as a condition for receiving severance ?
Nothing worse than seeing a grown man cry at work. This is very disturbing.
God Bless the Evolve Team.
