Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Why is Pepsico not promoting from within?

Our plant brings in hired grads from college.. lead guys have to train them how to do there job.. 18 months there gone... why not promote within and give employees something to look forward to.. not just get passed up by a 25 year old because they got a piece of paper..

Agree with this 100%, @PUKXJUw-7evu. It's sad to see this once great company treat its most loyal employees like this.

It can be worse. Wait until they tell you your degree isn't enough for a promotion. That's not even mentioning the degree fraud/rampant cheating that goes on in other countries (news flash, you can buy a masters for about $500 with supporting transcripts)

They like to hire people who are obedient robots who will stroke the ego of their wonderful boss.

They don't want to give you a chance because many managers here are extremely insecure about their own existence, knowing deep down they are worthless on the open market.

10 years in and I see the same thing. My college degree has meant nothing to Frito Lay. They recruit from college, start them at higher level jobs and promote them quickly. The PDR process is a joke and merit increases don't keep up with the cost of living. It is 100% about who they like and not your performance. I got that one from 2 band 1 people I know. Morale among L03 employees in the Plano area is sh-- right now. Org health surveys seems to be measuring how bad things can get before people look outside the company. Indra continues to make crazy money with 2 salary increases 2 years in a row...she was at 25 million last time I checked. Oh...and I know some dumb a-- people with high level college degree. Degree used to open doors but now it doesn't. You gotta kiss a-- and network more than doing your job well. I'm not the only one who feels this way.

I have a degree but work experience is more valuable . Many people with degrees are not grammar experts.

Just because a word wasn't used correctly doesn't mean they cannot do the job. I too am frustrated with the same thing. I am good enough to train people, but cannot apply for the position without a degree. It is sad that an RSR with 20 years isn't qualified for a SDL position in the companies eyes.

It's "their" and "they're gone" not "there"......and you wonder why they hire college graduates. You can't even construct a simple sentence.

Companies bring in immigrants, you complain......they bring in US college graduates, you complain - SMH!!!
