Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

Bville Closing

So now the IC building in bville is up for sale. The POB will be restacked to accommodate what is left.

Have source close to upper mgt and yes this is the beginning of the end to Bville.

Hope is P66 will buy the IC building. Won't be long and departments will be relocated to Houston like tax, JV audit, etc

EC4 build out design definitely includes space for Bville functions.

The Conocophillips buildings in Bartlesville are of no consequence. Corporate centralization to EC4 & EC3 will happen end of first quarter next year.

5nwk They were probably discussing dropping Phillips name from Conocophillips to just Conoco!

I believe Bartlesville problem is not employees but management. At my level we work hard and polite to any contacts we make in the company. A level or two up, not so. I overheard one upper level manager get extremely loud and angry when whoever he was talking to on speaker phone mentioned that Conoco was founded in 1875 and Phillips 66 was not founded until 1917. Why would this make a difference today?

Sounds like the shoe fits Bartlesville not clear reasoning how this makes Texas a bad neighbor? Maybe reasoning is that Bartlesville office is not responsible for how it interacts with other parts of the company so blame lies elsewhere?

"Bartlesville arrogance and nasty attitude will not be missed"

This entire thread stinks of nothing other than arrogance and hate from our southern neighbor. Proud to NOT be a Texan if this is how they behave down there.

Supporting a stranded remote campus is not beneficial to anyone. Midland and Houston can absorb Bartlesville positions. Disaster recovery can be performed at any data center. Bartlesville arrogance and nasty attitude will not be missed.

The buildings in Bartlesville are of no value. No financial benefits associated with the sale of the buildings in Bartlesville. The IC building houses one data center for P66 (new) and one data center for COP (not so new). The Bartlesville location is an excellent option for disaster recovery and the data centers are the key to disaster recovery for the information technology functions of both companies. Outsourcing does not eliminate the assets and so the data centers and the content of the data centers would remain relevant. The actual people may or may not be local. Both companies use international resources for information technology. The information technology efforts are focused on dynamic cloud resources. The goal for oil and gas in general is the ability to sell off assets at a moment's notice. Scaling back the number of email users with cloud services is easy enough, as an example. I have few nice words for Bartlesville but the sale of a building or the lack of a sale of a building in Bartlesville is of no consequence.

Why in the world would you want your headquarters in Houston. Exxon is in Dallas, Chevron is in California, maybe time for the energy sector to move north to get out of hurricanes ( harvey )

Use more dimension to your thought process. Exercise a bit more brain cells.

The point @1wyb was making was the pot calling the kettle black. Or in dumbed down terms, which you might understand a little more, y'all are a bunch of hypocrites. @1wyb's comment wasn't about Bartlesville. He/She was saying the disdain you show toward others is disgusting. I agree.

Let's see, if half talk about how nasty people are in Bartlesville and the other half insult Bartlesville what conclusion should we make about Bartlesville? Looks like, sounds like, and walks like future of Bartlesville is limited doesn't it.

Half of the posts on this site talk about how "nasty" people from Bartlesville are. While the other half fling insults at Bartlesville. Who are the nasty ones?

This site is a disgrace and I'm ashamed that any of you work for ConocoPhillips.

C'mon. Its just a matter of time. Bartlesville is like the company Sears. You can see the end coming even if the stores are still open for now.

An outsourcing company wouldn’t want a physical building in Bartlesville. They’d be offshore.

This is a Ponca City (B)unt....maybe a C would have been correct

The IC building is the Data Centers for COP and PSX

So both company's must be shutting down...

Sorry, but another Fake News story.

You'd have had better luck trying to explain POB was for sale, since ConocoPhillips is legally not allowed to sell IC because of some contractual obligations with Phillips.

"cool story bro"

The reaction of a child who can't deal with reality and needs to find a way to mock the truth.

Too bad you got yourself hopped up in debt and a 6 year truck payment "bro."

Now you're terrified and can't handle what's going on.
