The MBA program is good(state university good? No), and it really depends on what the student does with it. I went to a state school for my undergrad with PLENTY of morons. Dont let the college name necessarily turn you off when hiring.
Because those of us who got fooled by the UoP MBA on candidate resumes are furious! HR is blocking any degree from UoP at this point. Those grads can't write, don't know the first thing about how the business world works, can't do a SWOT to save their lives and have no CLUE about accounting principles and finance. I came here after googling UoP degree mill and this has been an eye-opener. I have forward the link to HR. Seriously, who in their right mind thinks they can learn finance principles for managers in 5 weeks? No wonder the guy we hired didn't know what the 4Ps of marketing were. Made a total moron out of himself in a staff meeting. It became a feeding frenzy of what else did he not learn even though he has an MBA on his resume. The manager just sat there and watched. I'm forwarding these layoff posts to everyone in my LinkedIn network. Managers need to educate themselves on the BS that is going on at these schools.
