Yes, you can tell that he doesn't make many decisions himself from the earnings call, but I would expect most CEOs aren't like Steve Jobs or Musk. As long as the company is doing as well the stockholders expect, I don't think he has to be worried about anything. He's tall, not unattractive, level-minded externally, so he's safe.

He's actually doing pretty good. Far worse CEOs are kept. Once lawsuits are resolved, which are not his fault, stock should go back up. They actually did better than expected, and there weren't any surprises; the profit drop was expected. Stock price actually went up today. There are companies whose stock price drops after the earning call, even though the results were better than last time, but they weren't in line with expectations.

Qualcomm has to maintain the appearance of stability until NXP closes. Poor Dutch, they have to get bought out by such a train wreck.
