Yep.. Round 2 has begun...Closed door one on one meetings began this am. The difference this time is that this is mandatory, not voluntary. This is a true layoff. Positions are being eliminated all in the name of being lean & meeting the corporate numbers. Some lucky people are eligible for retirement, others are not.

Anybody who would justify the cuts or stick up for the way it's done at Colgate is a dumb--s.
They are sending jobs over seas and if you don't help with the transition you don't get your package.
Oh and if you post anything about it on social media you don't get your package either.

I think Ian Cooks email to us was clear. My colleague lost their job in this layoff and he was treated respectfully and has a severance that pays almost a year with other benefits as well. He was not escorted out, in fact will work until the end of the year and he was told that was so there can be an orderly transition and so there is ample time to thank him for his contribution. His job was combined with another so seems like a clear reason. Not sure who these angry posts are from but it doesn't sound like Colgate people. Sounds like trolls or troublemakers.
Ian sent an email explaining that 140 people were let go today, mainly in PW and NY. People are saying tomorrow is going to be another round of layoffs, sure hope not.
Please tell us what they did today. Did they escort you out of the building for good or were you given until the end of the year at least? I hope they gave you severance pay. I could tell something awful was happening but I really don’t know who was let go or anything else for certain. It doesn’t seem very fair if they gave managers and above packages and now they are just letting people go with nothing if that’s what happened. I feel bad for anyone who lost their jobs today.
I got to be honest. Many of thr individuals who were let go was not because of numbers and going lean. It was much deeper than that. If you did a ditch you better dig one deep enough for you to fall. Colgate will fall. Nothing goods comes out eliminating people for personal reasons. More importantly, the management who put us in this crazy financial doom should be eliminated.

I was also let go today, right now I am just numb and bouncing between euphoria and deep sadness.
I'm still glad this happened as I had become complacent of my situation and needed a kick in the pants.
But is still hurts so deep like gash of an open wound bleeding out.
I will be all right now, the lord is my shepherd and will guide me through the valley of job hunting.

Today I lost my job but it's not the end of the world. 140 people are being let go. Like I said, some of it is personal. I am free.
Not because revenues and sales are falling hard? They still able to hide it with "Non-GAAP" accounting?
Logic 101: When a company is laying people off, it's because their sales are falling.
