Yes, that is completely true. Q will look beyond smartphones. So what do you think will happen to engineers whose jobs are tied to our phone business?
You seem to have forgotten that the big question on this board is not „Will Qualcomm survive?“ but „Will our jobs survive?“ These are two quite distinct questions.
I think the fear here is overblown. If, and this is a big if, the NXP deal closes, Qcom should be able to leave Apple behind. Qcom is already looking beyond smartphones.
Apple should be careful as well. Apple believes what we make is a commodity, and they can use whatever part they want. Fine. People are also realizing smartphones are a commodity as well and using inferior parts will emphasize this.
Sell everything and leave San Diego now!!!
You mean these handsets and tabs would actually spit out parts? Amazing.
Sell everything and leave San Diego !!
Don't worry guys
The WSJ is somewhere between the National Enquirer and used toilet paper on the journalism scale. Don’t believe a word of it. Long Live Qualcomm!!!
Mediatek finally defeated QC due to BS management and useless managers. Good Job Mediatek show these fools how to lead a company to success.
We do not need apple
Qcom should help fund lawsuit against Apple's app store.
No way. Qualcomm is no 1
